This is a reason why high performance hard drives and especially SSD's designed for testing the performance of hard drives and SSD drives. Benchmark the speed of your hard disk drive. Test using multiple threads, reading writing and seeking. and see which parts you can upgrade together with the expected performance improvements. Drive tests include: read, write, sustained write and mixed IO.

CrystalDiskMark is a disk benchmark software. result depends on Test File Size, Test File Position, Fragmentation, IDE(PATA)/SATA/RAID/SCSI controller and CPU speed etc In a part of SSD, the result depends on test data(random, 0fill). Do you want to carry out hard drive speed test for your Windows or Mac? You are probably wondering which hard drive speed tester is the best. Your hard disk performance may go sluggish because of file system errors and file fragmentations. If you want to test hard drive performance and know its health .

The speed that data can be transferred between memory and a hard disk drive is one of a system's most important performance aspects. Basically, you have to download and insatll Remo Optimizer application on your PC from a trusted source.
Mitch Wheat Mitch Wheat 7. Iometer sucks for the casual user. Requires an installer wth for tries to open friggen sockets and the UI is your typical OSS ui--ugly, way more complex than necessary, and ultimately confusing to anybody that doesn't RTFM.

The latest version 1. I must admit the UI is far from being user-friendly.
It still gets the job done and, unlike most other benchmarking tools, measures latency. It also saves results in CSV; if you select the same file again, it appends to it - quite nice for comparison, graphing etc.

It can only do 3 operations on block: Read, Write and Erase. It cannot overwrite like a hard disk. But it function the same way: When you delete something, it marks the pages related to these data as available, but not empty. A problem though, on page, it can only do Read and Write, not erase.
This operation take time and this is way your SSD speed degrate with usage. Thus, in the early days of SSD, Trim appeared to fix this problem. When Trim is run, it does the operation above on all needed block and pages, thus leaving the SSD only with good and empty pages.
This process does add some wear on the drive, but very little. With time, OS and controller have implemented various way to bypass this problem, like doing the trim action on each erase, never leaving bad pages. I did not see Hard Disk Sentential among your programs.
The system was still under warranty so I contacted Dell. After a lengthy phone call discussing the problem, they a sent a technician out. After 90 minutes, he agreed the drive was problematic, and gave me a 1TB replacement drive. I installed the new drive, made it the boot and moved everything important over to it. I made the GB drive a secondary just to see how long it might last.
About one week later it failed.
